Localization operations

Run repeatable localization work from a shared sheet.

Turn spreadsheet-based source copy into a more consistent translation workflow with selectable engines and reusable instructions.

The spreadsheet problem

Localization teams often receive content in spreadsheets, but moving every revision through separate chat windows loses row context and makes terminology harder to repeat.

Common content columns
1Source string
2Context notes
3Target language
4Reviewer status

Suggested workflow

  1. 01Prepare representative strings and context notes in the active sheet.
  2. 02Define preferred terminology, tone, and protected names in custom rules.
  3. 03Translate a selected sample and have a reviewer evaluate it.
  4. 04Apply the accepted setup to the remaining selected cells or complete sheet.

Review checklist

  • Keep source and target columns visible together for review.
  • Use short, concrete rules instead of broad prompts.
  • Record reviewer status in a separate column that is not selected for translation.
